Child Safety Standards
Last updated : September 12, 2026
RankMates is a teammate-finding service for gamers, available at rankmates.net and as the RankMates app for Android and iOS. RankMates is published by SemanticLab. These standards state how we prevent, detect and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on the service. They apply to every user, on every surface: profiles, matches, mate requests and chat.
1. Our commitment
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. RankMates exists to help players find teammates, and nothing else. Any use of the service to sexually exploit, groom, endanger or harm a minor, or to produce, share or seek child sexual abuse material (CSAM), is strictly prohibited and leads to a permanent ban of the account and, where the law requires it, a report to the competent authorities.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
The following are prohibited everywhere on RankMates, in profiles, in chat and in any content shared through the service:
- •Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor, including generated, drawn or altered imagery.
- •Sexualisation of minors: any content or conduct that presents a minor in a sexual manner, including sexual comments, requests or role-play involving a minor.
- •Grooming: building a relationship with a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, including asking a minor for sexual content, for private photos, for a meeting, or for contact on another platform for that purpose.
- •Sextortion: threatening a minor with the sharing of intimate content to obtain sexual content, money or anything else.
- •Minor trafficking, and any advertising, facilitation or solicitation of sexual activity with a minor.
- •Sharing or seeking links, contacts or instructions that give access to any of the above.
This list is not exhaustive. We may remove any content or account we consider harmful to a minor, even when it is not listed here.
3. Age requirements and protection of minors
RankMates is open to players aged 14 and over. Age is self-declared at signup and cannot be changed afterwards; an account found to belong to a child under 14 is locked out immediately and can no longer use the service. The locked screen lets the account delete itself at any time (Delete my account); its data is deleted then, or on request at the address given in section 6.
Adults (18 and over) and minors are kept apart by design: the matching engine never pairs an adult with a minor, and adults and minors cannot match or add each other as mates. A minor's exact age is never displayed and minors are not labelled on public pages; adults display their age.
If you are below the digital age of consent in your country (15 in France), the agreement of a holder of parental authority is required to use RankMates. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time at the address given in section 6.
4. How to report
Any signed-in user can report a user or a message, in the app or on the website:
- •On a revealed match card and on a mate card, open the menu and choose Report, then the reason Child safety (minor at risk).
- •In a chat, open the menu of the message and choose Report, then the same reason. The reported message is saved with your report, so we can read it even if it is edited or deleted afterwards.
- •On a public profile page (rankmates.net/u/<pseudo>), use the Report action.
- •From outside the app, or if you have no account, write to semanticlab.buisness@hotmail.com with "Child safety" in the subject, or use the contact form at rankmates.net/contact with the category Child safety concern.
Report first, then block: blocking, available from a mate's card menu, deletes the shared chat, including the messages you want us to see. Reports are confidential. The reported user is never told who reported them.
5. How we respond
Child-safety reports are treated as our highest priority and reviewed as soon as possible. Every report is mirrored in real time to our moderation channel with a priority alert, and reports are kept even if the reported account is deleted. Uploaded avatars and profile names are screened automatically before they are published; a photo of a child used as an avatar is rejected when our screening detects it.
When a report is confirmed, we:
- •remove the offending content and permanently ban the account, which loses access to the service immediately;
- •review the reported account, the reported content that is still available, and the account's activity on the service;
- •keep the report and the evidence saved with it;
- •report confirmed child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities named in section 7.
We also cooperate with law-enforcement requests made through the proper legal channels.
6. Contact
For any child-safety concern, including as a parent or guardian, a law-enforcement agency or a child-protection organisation, contact us at semanticlab.buisness@hotmail.com with "Child safety" in the subject. This address is monitored by the RankMates team at SemanticLab and is the designated point of contact for child-safety matters and for the standards published on this page. You can also use the contact form at rankmates.net/contact with the category Child safety concern.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
7. Applicable law and standards
These standards supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. They are published to meet the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and the applicable laws on the protection of minors, including French law and European Union law. We report confirmed child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities, including PHAROS (internet-signalement.gouv.fr) in France and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). These standards are governed by French law. In case of discrepancy between language versions, the French version prevails.
